L'Abri

Introduction

I waited to be picked up at a dark and strange train station around 10 pm.

After ten minute-shievering with cold, excitement outside, I finally arrived at L'Abri and then some awkward greetings were exchanged between me and those who decided to stay there like me.

Next day, which was students' day-off and was my first day, I took these photos of L'Abri and neighborhood peacefully when all students went out to enjoy their freedom. Whew! 

I learned that the beautifully antique house and the enormous properties were originally bought for the use of L'Abri by a wealthy old woman who was not related to L'Abri at all. It was quite impressive. I also learned that actress Meg Ryan lives near L'Abri and that proves that the area was populated by wealthy folks.

The lifestyle at L'Abri is eco-friendly as it could be predicted through the atmosphere. Living with big ants on the floor, walls and witnessing living creatures are not uncommon or surprising events. Drinking only water at all time seemed to help students stay healthy indeed. However, having humid summer without A/C is the least pleasant and efficient lifestyle.
